A diagnosis of prostate cancer can be unsettling, for both patients and their loved ones. But remember, you are not alone. Prostate cancer is the most common type of cancer, other than skin cancer, among men in the US.1 In fact, The American Cancer Society estimates that in 2008, about 186,320 men will be newly diagnosed with the disease.1 Yet there's reassuring news—although 1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime, only 1 in 35 will die from the disease, and the fatality rate is going down.1

As part of you and your doctor charting a treatment course, it's important that you learn more about prostate health.
