VANTAS brings more freedom into
your life—with once-yearly therapy

The freedom of 12 months of therapy with a single implant

For decades, hormone suppression therapy has been a standard treatment choice for certain patients diagnosed with prostate cancer. Historically this type of therapy has been delivered as a series of injections, but with once-yearly VANTAS it’s available in an implant form that lasts for one entire year.

Please keep in mind that hormone suppression therapy is not a cure for prostate cancer, but can slow its development. Be sure to ask your doctor to explain these options and decide which might work best for you.

VANTAS is a unique, 12-month hormone suppression therapy that contains the testosterone-reducing medication called histrelin. Small, flexible, and soft to the touch, VANTAS is placed just under the skin of your inner upper arm. The implant’s outer shell is made of HYDRON® polymer, the same type of material used in soft contact lenses. VANTAS remains in your arm to release histrelin continuously for a whole year, helping to keep male hormones low, which slows the development of prostate cancer.

Set up appointments at times that work for you

Unlike injectable therapies, VANTAS requires only one procedure per year—giving you and your doctor the freedom to schedule your regular appointments at times that work for you. After a year, you have the implant removed. Then you and your doctor will decide whether you should receive another VANTAS implant for the following year.
