Effective Suppression of Testosterone Levels—With
Once-Yearly VANTAS®

Proven consistent testosterone suppression with VANTAS®1-3

  • In a clinical study, mean testosterone suppression to castration level (≤50 ng/dL) was achieved for most patients (n=134) treated with VANTAS within 4 weeks and remained below 20 ng/dL through week 52 (n=111).2
    • Mean serum testosterone levels at week 52: 14.3 ng/dL reported in 111 patients with evaluable testosterone2
    • Treatment success for chemical castration: Defined as mean serum testosterone levels ≤50 ng/dL related to GnRH agonist treatment for advanced prostate cancer2
    • Median total testosterone of post bilateral orchiectomy patients: 15 ng/dL reported in a study of 35 post bilateral orchiectomy patients with a median duration of 33 months since orchiectomy4
  • In the pivotal clinical study, mean PSA levels decreased approximately 96% by week 16
  • Mean PSA levels changed from a baseline of 78.8 ng/mL (n=111) to 3.2 ng/mL (n=110) in the ITT population
  • The once-yearly VANTAS implant can provide treatment compliance for a full 52 weeks of GnRH agonist therapy.5
  • Response to VANTAS should be monitored measuring serum concentrations of testosterone and PSA periodically, especially if the anticipated clinical or biochemical response to treatment is not observed or if the ability to superficially palpate the implant is lost.
